What Happened
The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective of designers, engineers and craftspeople has unveiled four new craft techniques: 3D leather hand-sculpting, 3D metal hand-sculpting, 3D veneers and beadwork application. The second artwork combines 3D metal hand-sculpting and layered 3D veneer with brass elements. A jewel-like flower at the center is made from five layers of brass, each cut by waterjet and hand-engraved with over 50 lines per petal, taking more than 45 hours. The composition incorporates historical references: draught, scribing, strapwork, and ferramenta.
